Are you moving to a new home country? You may then encounter discrimination. Sometimes, you will notice by your health. You may then develop psychological or physical symptoms. Talk about it with an expert. The sooner you do this, the better we can help.

Are you being discriminated? You then may:

  • worry
  • have trouble sleeping
  • feel insecure
  • have little self-confidence
  • feel depressed

We often also notice physical complaints in people who feel discriminated.

We reinforce your ability to deal with the consequences of discrimination through psychiatric treatments.  You say what is on your mind and together with your practitioner you draw up a treatment plan,  usually in your own language. Your treatment may consist of:

  • creative therapy is sometimes part of the treatment

Discrimination: what is that?

Discrimination is treating people or groups differently or excluding them based on various characteristics:

  • race
  • religion
  • sexual inclination
  • skin colour
  • handicap
  • age
  • sex

According to the Dutch constitution, discrimination is prohibited. But, unfortunately, it still occurs.
